Entering the world of quantum computing | PhoQS scientists pleased with well-attended workshop

The collaboration project qp-tech.edu (Quantum Photonic Technology Education), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, was launched in 2022. Scientists from the universities of Erlangen, Jena, Ulm, Paderborn and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF pursue the common goal of imparting knowledge about photonic quantum technologies to industrial companies in Germany. For this purpose, quantum sciences will be presented in workshops and through a series of online learning micromodules.

As part of the qp-tech.edu project, a workshop organized by the Paderborn University was held online on Feb. 14, 2023. The workshop included talks on the theoretical concept of quantum computing (presenter: Prof. Sevag Gharibian), on the relationship between cryptography and quantum computing (presenter: Prof. Johannes Blömer) and on current development trends in quantum photonics (presenter: PD Dr. Sonja Barkhofen). With 32 participants from industry, the workshop was well attended.
