On 30 March 2026, the PhD students from the first PhoQS-FUTURE cohort invited all PhoQS members to their first social event, themed ‘International Evening’. Around 40 PhoQS members (ranging from PhD students and postdocs to professors) accepted the invitation.
19 people brought culinary delicacies from their home countries: everything was represented, from Mettigel to Lamingtons, Oreshki, bruschetta, samosas, and homemade spelt and oat bread, and much more.
In addition, the PhD students put together slides about their home towns, which were shown in the background, leading to many fascinating conversations that went beyond just current research topics.
Thank you to the PhoQS-FUTURE PhD students and especially to Jasmin and Noel, who made this a very relaxed and lively event!
