Pioneering Quantum: From Planck to the second-generation quantum technologies

History meets the future. No innovation without reference to the scientific roots. No modern quantum research without Planck’s groundbreaking visions.

While the Max Planck Society was born 77 years ago in neighbouring Bad Driburg, the Paderborn-based Institute for Photonic Quantum Systems (PhoQS) ties in with its scientific foundation and has already achieved numerous breakthroughs. With three Max Planck School of Photonics fellows, the first bridges between the Max Planck Society and our institute are built – further are to be established.

With Quantum Spots 2023, photonics and quantum scientists will come together to present their research advances, exchange competencies, and discuss challenges and goals. Our symposium in the anniversary year of the Max Planck society will be celebrating fundamentals in quantum research.
